About the Position:

We’re seeking experienced Structured Cabling Technicians to support on-site projects across NYC, New Jersey, Long Island, and Westchester. Applicants must be located within these areas.

This role is focused primarily on structured cabling, data center infrastructure, fiber optics, and pipe/conduit installation. We’re looking for strong field technicians who can handle full-scope cabling and infrastructure builds from rough-in through testing and turn-up. Experience in DAS, security/access control, or AV systems is considered a plus, but is not the primary focus of this role.


Qualifications:

Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in two or more of the following core areas:

Structured Cabling

  • Installation, termination, dressing, labeling, and testing of Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A
  • Rack and cabinet buildouts
  • Patch panel terminations and certification testing

Data Center Infrastructure

  • Rack and cabinet installation
  • Cable tray installation and overhead/underfloor routing
  • Structured cable management and equipment setup
  • Cross-connects and backbone cabling

Fiber Optics

  • Fiber splicing (fusion preferred)
  • Termination (LC, SC, MPO, etc.)
  • OTDR and power meter testing
  • Troubleshooting and fiber pathway management

Pipe / Conduit Work

  • Bending and installing EMT and rigid conduit
  • Running sleeves and pathway systems
  • Understanding fill ratios and pathway planning

Additional experience (plus but not required):

  • Security/access control systems
  • DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems)
  • Audio/Visual installations
  • Low voltage service work and troubleshooting
  • Job site leadership or crew coordination


Requirements:

  • Reliable vehicle and ability to travel throughout NYC, NJ, Long Island, and Westchester
  • Valid SST (Site Safety Training) card — physical card required
  • Clear photo of SST card must be uploaded with resume
  • Must supply and use personal hand tools
  • Ability to regularly lift 50+ pounds
  • Strong understanding of job site safety standards


Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Industry certifications such as:
  • BICSI Installer/Technician (Structured Cabling)
  • FOA CFOT or equivalent fiber optic certification
  • Experience leading crews or managing portions of structured cabling/data center builds

We are currently only considering candidates in the tri-state area who can reliably commute to various job sites across the NYC/NJ/Long Island. This role is not open to relocation and relocation assistance is not provided.
