Job Title: Cloud Solution SME (US Citizen - Onsite in Washington DC)
Location: Onsite – Washington, DC (5 days/week)
Contract-to-Hire (Candidates must be willing to convert to FTE after contract period)
Target Pay Rate During Contract: $80.00 - $90.00 / Hourly / W2
Target Salary Range: $170,000 to $185,000 Salary / Annually

Work Authorization: US Citizenship Required. Ability to obtain a Public Trust or Active DOJ Public Trust.
About the Role:
A mission driven federal technology partner is seeking a Cloud Solution SME to support a major transition to a hybrid and multi cloud operating model. This role is hands on and highly technical, involving architecture design across Azure, AWS, and OCI while integrating with existing on prem infrastructure. The ideal candidate has deep cloud experience across at least two major cloud providers, strong understanding of federal security frameworks, and the ability to design secure, scalable, and well governed cloud environments that meet stringent compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement hybrid and multi cloud architectures across Azure, AWS, and OCI
- Define reference architectures and cloud standards for development, test, and production
- Architect solutions for compute, storage, identity, networking, and security
- Support cloud migrations, modernization efforts, and workload re platforming
- Implement cloud networking patterns and hybrid connectivity with on prem systems
- Develop automation using Terraform and cloud native tooling
- Ensure alignment with federal security, compliance, audit, and governance requirements
- Design disaster recovery strategies and validate RTO and RPO targets
- Support cost management, tagging standards, and cloud usage visibility
- Collaborate with technical leadership and stakeholders across multiple teams
Top Skills:
- Multi cloud engineering experience (Azure, AWS, OCI)
- Cloud networking and hybrid connectivity
- Linux and Windows workload architecture
- IAM, logging, monitoring, and security controls
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience in regulated federal environments with FedRAMP or NIST 800 53
- Preferred Background:
- Experience supporting federal customers
- Familiarity with DOJ aligned enterprise services
- Strong architecture documentation skills
- Cloud security certifications
- Experience designing DR and resilience solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years in enterprise cloud or infrastructure engineering
- Hands on experience with at least two major cloud platforms
- Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance frameworks
- Ability to work fully onsite in Washington, DC
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
