Ashcraft & Gerel, a growing multi-state personal injury law firm with a 70-year legacy, is looking for a full-time Paralegal to join our highly reputable team in our Washington D.C. office.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management:
    • Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents, including claims, appeals, and motions.
    • Organize and maintain case files, obtaining all necessary documents are in order.
    • Coordinate with court personnel, opposing counsel, and clients to schedule hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Client Interaction:
    • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and answer their practical questions.
    • Maintain regular contact with medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties involved in cases.
  • Investigation Support:
    • Assist in gathering evidence and conducting interviews with witnesses and experts.
    • Prepare and manage the documentation of evidence, photographs, and exhibits for hearings.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Manage attorney calendars and schedules for court appearances, meetings, and deadlines.
    • Prepare and send correspondence, including client letters and discovery requests.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a workers’ compensation paralegal or legal assistant is preferred.
  • Familiarity with case management software..
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially when handling legal documents and records.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
