Job DescriptionAbout the Role
As a Legal Coordinator at ALTO, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our mission to create safer stores and communities. Working closely with our Operations Team you’ll serve as an in-person victim advocate, helping manage criminal investigations and court proceedings on behalf of our retail clients, collaborating daily with law enforcement, prosecutors, and local communities to address crime and public safety challenges.
This role is ideally suited for candidates with a background in law enforcement, criminal law paralegal work, or similar fields who thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You’ll need to be highly organized, able to shift seamlessly between varied tasks, and committed to documenting and managing details with speed and precision.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct case research, reporting, and communication with clients and stakeholders
- Act as a victim advocate by attending hearings, meeting with law enforcement and prosecutors, and communicating victims’ perspectives to the court
- Advise victims and client teams on criminal procedures and case updates
- Prepare bail and sentencing recommendations on behalf of crime victims
- Coordinate witness attendance and ensure courtroom preparedness
- Build and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and prosecutors as part of the ALTO Alliance
- Schedule and lead Law Enforcement Partnership meetings with store teams
- Conduct client store visits as needed, providing timely legal updates and support
- Maintain and accurately update legal management systems with high-volume case information
- Support other legal and operational initiatives as assigned by the Director of Operations or Operations Lead Counsel
Minimum Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in law enforcement, as a criminal law paralegal, or in a related legal support role
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred, not required) in criminal justice, legal studies, or a related field
- Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and document high volumes of information efficiently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and timelines, including occasional evening or weekend work
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (Class C or equivalent)
