Index Engines is the worlds leading AI powered analytics engine to detect data corruption due to ransomware. The companys CyberSense product empowers organizations to detect ransomware and data corruption and facilitate rapid recovery from attacks. CyberSense is the last line of defense for thousands of organizations worldwide.
The Index Engines Engineering team uses the Scrum Agile methodology. The Engineering Team is distributed across four geographic locations: Holmdel NJ, San Jose CA, Colorado Springs CO, and Pune India.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Engineering team and contribute to the quality of our Linux-based application stack, including the Service daemons, REST API and web-based user interface. This role is essential in ensuring our CyberSense product meets high standards for functionality, security, and reliability. The successful candidate will work closely within a Scrum team, engaging in all Agile processes to support both manual and automated testing initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as a core member of a Scrum team, participating in Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Work alongside developers to understand user stories and requirements for upcoming features and system operations.
- Develop, document, and execute test plans focusing on functional testing of REST APIs and web based applications.
- Support and develop automated tests using PyTest and Playwright.
- Install and configure Index Engines products on Linux environments, including the creation of virtual machines as needed.
- Ensure seamless integration of software modules, confirming adherence to system requirements.
- Proactively monitor and upgrade servers, operating systems, agents, and backup applications to current versions.
- Perform QA testing across the application stack to ensure high performance and compatibility.
- Support product maintenance by conducting compatibility tests with third-party software updates, reporting and troubleshooting bugs, and investigating customer-reported issues in collaboration with the Product Support team.
Requirements:
- Education:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Work Authorization:Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications:
- Proficient withLinux administration and development environments.
- Experienced withPythonandJavaScript/TypeScript.
- Skilled inBashscripting and SSH command-line operations.
- Familiar withREST APIsand testing tools such as Postman and cURL.
- Experienced withUI Testingframeworks (e.g., Postman, Playwright, Selenium).
- Knowledge ofdatabase structures, creation, backups, encryption, File systems
and additional database features (Preferred). - Some exposure toC/C++and experience withJiraandGit/GitHub(Preferred).
- Experienced with Cloud applications.
- Experienced with containers like Docker (Preferred)
Experience:
- Demonstrated experience with software testing, including test plan generation and execution.
- Background in testing with Enterprise product inLinux environments.
- Familiarity with bothmanual and automated testingpractices.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively collaborate within a challenging, team-driven environment.
