Job Description:
Position Tittle: IT Analyst
The position will apply and follow business analysis principles and best practices as defined by the Office of Strategic Management, including preparing SDLC documentation, support and gathering estimating, resourcing and equipment needs, supporting project plans and schedules, monitoring, testing, tracking projects, and taking timely action to achieve deadlines.
- Manage automated/manual system definition, design, and implementation.
- Contribute to the traceability of business requirements, functional requirements, and technical requirements throughout the SDLC/project for accuracy and ensure customer objectives have been met.
- Conduct feasibility studies; publish findings.
- Analyze and evaluate system problems and make recommendations for solutions and options; implement appropriate resolution.
- Author and publish comprehensive written documentation for project development, federal investigations, and other projects assigned.
- Perform system testing of modifications made to the system and coordinate implementation of changes with Technical Support, Security, and programming staff.
- Prepare comprehensive written documentation of testing activities including test results and discrepancy reports.
- Provide technical support to users. Train and guide other analysts.
- Analyze and evaluate user/system requirements. Make oral and written presentations on automated system changes.
- Ensure system modifications are in compliance with Federal and State guidelines.
- Participate in coordinating and supporting IT projects on the basis of their strategic alignment to the objectives of DES.
- Work with stakeholders at all levels to ensure that all IT projects are supported efficiently and effectively following DES Policy, Project Management Institute standards, Network Infrastructure and Software Development Methodologies, and industry best practices.
