Job Title: RN – Medical Cardiology (Night Shift, Travel Contract)

Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Compensation:

  • Weekly Gross: $2,890.00 Per Week
  • On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week ($20/hour)
  • Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,170.00 Per Week

Position Overview:

Albany Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Medical Cardiology team on a 13-week night shift travel contract. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac care environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

The RN will provide comprehensive care to patients with a range of acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions, including heart failure, arrhythmias, post-cardiac procedures, and telemetry monitoring. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes for a diverse adult patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to cardiac medical patients, including monitoring of cardiac rhythms, administering medications, and managing telemetry
  • Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and evidence-based nursing standards
  • Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in New York State – Required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Preferred or Required based on unit
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a telemetry, cardiac step-down, or medical cardiology unit – Required
  • Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring – Strongly Preferred

This is a travel assignment requiring candidates to reside at least 50 miles away from the facility.
