A&K Railroad Materials Inc. is a leading supplier of new and used railroad track materials. A&K has sales offices, and a network of storage and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States. Together, these offices and inventory locations maintain an extensive and comprehensive inventory of track materials across the nation. Our mission is to provide innovative solutions to promote lasting railway infrastructure.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to care for our on-site equipment. Our equipment ranges from Front End Loaders to Small engines. Your expertise will play a vital role in maintaining our equipment and supporting our mission of delivering what matters to our customers.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and Repair: Use your skills to troubleshoot and fix a range of issues from electrical (6V-24V), mechanical, hydraulic and HVAC issues.
Keep Us Running: Perform routine preventative maintenance and find root cause issues to keep the equipment in top shape.
On-the-spot Repairs: Be ready to respond quickly to on-site issues and failures and get them back up and going.
Prioritization: Able to recognize and address immediate and secondary operational needs.
Teamwork: Work with the On-Site Manager and other team members.
Requirements:
- 3 Years of experience with equipment repairs.
- Working Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read diagrams and schematics.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for long periods of time
- Bend, stretch, crouch, and stoop.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Perform repetitive movements in the use of hand tools and equipment.
- Work schedule is from 8am to 4:30pm with Overtime as necessary.
