Job Title: Operating Room Tech (Tier 2)
Location: Kansas City, MO
Job Type: Perm Contingent
Duration: Permanent
Shift: Night | 3x12-Hour Shifts
Schedule: Full-Time; rotating weekends
Local Candidates Required: Yes (Must live within 30 minutes of the facility due to on-call requirements)

Pay Rate

Salary Range: $25.00 – $35.00/hr (17 years of experience required for maximum rate)
Shift Differentials: $3.00/hr for Nights | $3.00/hr for Weekends
On-Call Pay: $3.00/hr
Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case basis

Required Qualifications

1+ years of OR Tech experience required
Competent to perform as first scrub in at least 3 of the following 4 specialties: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, and Vascular Surgery
Graduate of an accredited school of Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross) required upon hire
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST from NBSTSA) preferred
Strong wire technique efficiency, sharp organizational skills, and a collaborative team-player mindset

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain sterile surgical suites with necessary instrumentation, supplies, and advanced technology
Assist with patient transport, clinical positioning, skin prepping, and sterile draping prioritizing patient safety and dignity
Scrub in and partner with surgical teams by passing instruments, anticipating surgeon needs, and properly handling specimens
Monitor sterile fields, operative patients, and surgical equipment throughout cases, troubleshooting promptly when needed
Maintain strict aseptic technique, facilitate rapid room turnovers, and maintain a safe, high-performing OR environment

Additional Position Details

Facility Size: 585+ Beds (Level I Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Accredited Chest Pain Center)
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Manager of Surgical Services
Role Scope: Tier 2 Surgical Technologist handling complex surgical cases confidently (non-leadership/non-lead specialty role)
Call Requirement: Dedicated on-call rotation with a mandatory 30-minute response/radius limit
