Position Overview


The Inventory Specialist / Material Handler is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records while supporting the day-to-day movement, organization, and storage of materials within our facility.

This position combines inventory control responsibilities with hands-on material handling to ensure materials are properly received, identified, stored, tracked, and available when needed.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with inventory systems, and willing to work hands-on in a warehouse environment.


Inventory Duties & Responsibilities


  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including quantities, locations, receipts, transfers, and material movements.
  • Perform routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Verify materials are stored in the correct designated locations.
  • Update inventory locations as materials are moved throughout the facility.
  • Maintain accurate part numbers, descriptions, quantities, and other inventory information.
  • Identify damaged, missing, incorrectly labeled, or misplaced materials and report discrepancies to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with inventory audits and reconciliation activities.
  • Maintain organized documentation related to receiving, inventory movements, and material transactions.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel and other departments to ensure inventory information remains accurate and up to date.


Material Handling Responsibilities


  • Receive, unload, inspect, and organize incoming materials.
  • Safely move materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other approved material-handling equipment.
  • Pick, stage, and prepare materials for internal transfers, production needs, or shipment.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed.
  • Properly label and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Organize warehouse and storage areas to maximize available space and accessibility.
  • Follow established procedures for handling oversized, heavy, or high-value materials.
  • Provide support to other warehouse and material-handling personnel during periods of increased workload or operational demand.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely lift and move materials in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment after receiving appropriate training and authorization.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures, noise levels, and frequent equipment movement.
