Payrate - $82/hr on W2 and $90/Hr on C2C
Job Description:
As part of the Applied AI Content Retrieval Engineering team, the contractor will develop and improve the information retrieval system for Voice 2.0, which powers the next generation of the Voice Remote. This system is critical to delivering a more conversational experience, driving higher customer satisfaction. The Voice Remote is the #1 driver of positive NPS for the company, and our XR18 product competes directly with Amazon Echo. Speed of development is essential to maintain our competitive edge.
Responsibilities:
• Design and implement scalable data ingestion pipelines to feed structured and unstructured content into OpenSearch.
• Enhance the content retrieval engine to support conversational voice queries and improve relevance and performance.
• Develop middleware services using Python, Django, and RESTful APIs to support ingestion and search workflows.
• Monitor and maintain operational readiness of ingestion pipelines and OpenSearch clusters, including deployments in AWS.
• Configure OpenSearch indices, mappings, analyzers, and templates to optimize search capabilities.
• Identify and implement system enhancements to improve functionality and simplify administration.
• Collaborate with QA and business analysts to validate data integrity, search accuracy, and system reliability.
• Standardize quality assurance procedures and oversee testing and bug fixes.
• Coordinate configuration changes and deployments to production environments.
Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of experience in software development or data engineering.
• Experience working independently
• Strong experience with Python and data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas, PySpark).
• Hands-on experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, including index management and query optimization.
• Skilled in building RESTful services and integrating with APIs.
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native development.
• Knowledge of data formats (JSON, XML, CSV) and protocols (HTTP, TCP/IP).
• Experience with Spring Framework and related sub-projects is a plus.
• Ability to mentor team members and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Creative problem-solver with strong judgment and adaptability.
