Position Summary
The Front Desk Associate at The Wedmore Place, a 28-room boutique hotel located on the grounds of The Williamsburg Winery, is the first point of contact for our guests and plays a vital role in ensuring an exceptional stay from arrival to departure. This position requires professionalism, strong attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality.
The ideal candidate is warm, organized, and confident in multitasking — seamlessly balancing guest interaction, administrative duties, and coordination with the housekeeping and winery teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Services & Check-In/Out

Greet all guests with genuine hospitality and professionalism.

Manage the check-in and check-out process efficiently, ensuring accuracy in guest information, billing, and reservations.

Provide guests with property and area information, including hotel amenities, winery offerings, and local attractions.

Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to inquiries or service requests.

Maintain an inviting and professional front desk and lobby area at all times.
Reservations & Administrative Duties

Use booking software to manage room reservations, availability, and guest records.

Handle guest communications through phone calls, in-person visits, and email.

Coordinate guest reservations for the Gabriel Archer Tavern, wine tours, tastings, and other on-site experiences.

Process payments, reconcile daily transactions, and maintain accurate reports.

Monitor emails and respond in a timely, professional manner.
Property & Housekeeping Coordination

Communicate daily with the housekeeping team to ensure room readiness, cleanliness, and attention to detail.

Conduct occasional inspections of guest rooms and public spaces to ensure standards are met.

Assist with light tidying of the lobby, breakfast room, and common areas to maintain a clean, welcoming environment.

Report maintenance or facility issues promptly to management.
Qualifications

Previous hotel or front desk experience preferred (hospitality or boutique property experience a plus).

Proficient with booking and POS systems (experience with Cloudbeds, ResNexus, or similar preferred).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong multitasking and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
Schedule

Shifts may include morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend coverage.
