Location: Hybrid Houston Metro, TX
Job Title: Corporate Accountant
Compensation: $67,000 +/- annually, based on experience

Position Summary
\tThe Corporate Accountant manages the day-to-day accounting operations for Summerfield Real Estate Groups corporate entities. This role is responsible for general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, intercompany transactions, and month-end close activities.
\tThe Corporate Accountant will maintain the books and financial records for multiple corporate entities within Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced / Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) and ensure that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
\tThis role works closely with the Managing Director and U.S.-based leadership team to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and effective financial oversight across all affiliated entities.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
\tMaintain the corporate general ledger for multiple entities within Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced / Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES)
\tEnsure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified across entities
\tPrepare journal entries to record revenue, expense reclasses, accruals, and other accounting adjustments
\tReview incoming intercompany transactions for proper coding and prepare outgoing intercompany transactions for approval
\tAnalyze general ledger activity and investigate unusual balances or discrepancies
\tReconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis and maintain supporting documentation
\tPrepare monthly profit and loss statements and consolidation schedules with variance commentary
Month-End & Year-End Close
\tConduct month-end and year-end close processes across multiple corporate entities
\tPrepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and work papers
\tEnsure all corporate accounting deadlines are consistently met
\tAssist with preparation and review of financial statements for corporate entities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
\tReview and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper expense coding and approval
\tReview the collection of recoverable expenses charged to affiliated properties on a timely basis
\tMonitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances
\tPerform monthly bank reconciliations and follow up on reconciling items
Compliance & Controls
\tMaintain accurate financial records and documentation across all corporate entities
\tAssist with audit preparation and provide documentation to internal and external auditors
\tSupport the development and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies
\tEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting standards
Process Improvement & Collaboration
\tWork with the Managing Director and senior leadership to improve accounting processes and implement financial controls
\tCollaborate with property accounting staff to resolve intercompany discrepancies and support corporate reporting
\tPrepare financial, accounting, and administrative reports as needed
\tPerform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:
\tBachelors degree or better in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field required
Experience
\t36 years of accounting experience
\tSignificant hands-on experience maintaining books for multiple entities in Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced / Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) required
\tExperience performing full-cycle accounting including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and financial reporting
\tReal estate, property management, or service-based industries is a plus
Technical Skills
\tAdvanced proficiency in Intuit QuickBooks Online Advanced / Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES)
\tStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial schedules
Professional Skills
\tStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
\tHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
\tExcellent written and verbal English communication skills
\tAbility to manage multiple entities, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Work Schedule & Remote Requirements
\tMust be willing to work a full-time schedule aligned with U.S. East Coast hours (9:00 AM 6:00 PM CST)
\tReliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated workspace required
