About the Role
The Solutions Architect on this project will serve as the hands-on technician with technical visionary, guiding architecture decisions and ensuring robust, scalable, and secure AWS-based solutions. You’ll collaborate and provide solutions with engineering teams, stakeholders, and government partners to translate business requirements into designs and roadmaps that drive mission-critical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design:
- Define and document end-to-end solution architectures using AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Develop reference architectures for microservices, serverless, and data processing workflows (Textract, Databricks, Glue).
- Technical Leadership:
- Lead architecture reviews and design sessions with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Data).
- Mentor engineers on best practices for Spring Boot, React, Python, and AWS services.
- Integration & Infrastructure:
- Architect integrations using Spring Cloud, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and Amazon DynamoDB.
- Define Infrastructure as Code standards with Terraform and Docker orchestration patterns.
- Design, deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- Governance & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to federal security mandates (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP).
- Establish governance models for IAM, resource tagging, and cost management.
- Performance & Optimization:
- Conduct architecture assessments, performance tuning, and cost optimization for AWS services.
- Provide guidance on data pipeline efficiency in Databricks and AWS Glue Jobs.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as primary technical liaison with government stakeholders, presenting architecture proposals and tradeoffs.
- Engage in Agile Scrum ceremonies
- Contribute to RFP responses and technical documentation for continuous authorization.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions on AWS.
- Proven track record with Spring Boot and Java for microservices architectures.
- Deep expertise in AWS core services: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Textract, Glue, CloudWatch, IAM.
- Strong understanding of containerization with Docker and orchestration patterns.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes.
- Experience authoring Infrastructure as Code in Terraform.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, TypeScript) to validate end-to-end designs.
- Experience with continuous integration platforms: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Harness CI.
- Excellent communication skills for technical presentations and stakeholder alignment.

- AWS Certification: Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
- Experience with Databricks and Spark-based ETL pipelines.
- Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks: FedRAMP, NIST 800-53.
- Exposure to identity management solutions (OAuth2, SAML, Cognito).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tooling: Splunk, New Relic, CloudWatch.
- Background in delivering large-scale government or regulated projects.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails for rapid prototyping and full-stack architecture.
- Hands-on experience integrating CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Harness CI.
