This role is ideal for a family law attorney who values autonomy, clear client communication, and trial-level advocacy within a collaborative team environment. We are seeking a self-motivated Family Law Attorney who works well with others, manages cases from start to finish, and wants to continue developing their skills in a flexible, high-performing practice. This role requires clear, consistent, and empathetic communication with clients regarding case strategy, expectations, and updates.

Responsibilities
- Represent clients in a full spectrum of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and related proceedings
- Conduct initial client consultations and assess legal strategy, risks, and case fit
- Advocate for clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop thoughtful, effective legal strategies aligned with client goals
- Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation within firm systems
- Manage caseload independently while communicating proactively with the team regarding case needs and capacity
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and an active Virginia Bar License
- 1+ year of family litigation experience, including but not limited to hearings, motions, and case strategy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A confident advocate with excellent client service skills and a patient demeanor
Helpful, But Not Required
- Admission to additional bars, particularly Maryland or the District of Columbia
- Familiarity with Clio or similar cloud-based practice management systems
- Engagement in the local legal community through bar associations, committees, or professional organizations
