The Hot Springs Convention Center and Bank OZK Arena are looking for ushers to work upcoming events. Please apply if you want to earn some extra cash this Spring! Part time, sporadic hours based on events booked. Schedules are discussed in advance with part time employees on the call list. Before the event we reach out to those on the call list - you are not obligated to work when called if you have a scheduling conflict, and your name will remain on the call list for the next event.
Job Summary: This employee's main duties include directing guests, and checking tickets for events within the Arena and Convention Center. This is a part time position, sporadic in scheduling because it is based on events booked into the Arena and/or the Convention Center, or other events that the client deems an usher is necessary.
Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greets guests in a courteous, professional manner.
- Directs guests within the building.
- Checks tickets of guests.
- Helps generate post-event reports by compiling numbers from guests entering a performance/event.
- Secures doors not being used.
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned by management.
- Monitors/controls ingress and egress.
Minimum Experience, Skills or Education Required:
- High school education or equivalent preferred.
- Must be a team player with good people skills and above average oral communications skills.
- Must possess a talent for making good decisions under pressure.
- Must have mathematical development sufficient to be able to add and subtract.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and on a sporadic basis.
- Must be able to use hands to tear tickets.
- Must be able to learn simple procedures and techniques.
- Must be able to perform routine or the same task over and over again.
- Must be able to stand or walk for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods.
- Must be able to read.
- Must be able to interpret graphics.
Physical Demands: Lifting 20 lbs. Requires sitting, walking, talking, hearing or standing to a significant degree. Climbing. Fingering.
Working Conditions: This employee works primarily inside the Arena and/or Hot Springs Convention Center, but may also work occasionally outdoors at special events. This part time employee's work schedule includes nights, weekends and holidays. Employment hours are based on event bookings in the Arena and/or Convention Center and will be sporadic in nature. There may be sufficient noise, either constant or intermittent, to cause marked distraction.
