Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will provide essential support to attorneys, particularly during trial periods, ensuring smooth communication and timely preparation of legal documents. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and experience in civil litigation and court filings.
Responsibilities: • Manage client communications effectively, especially during trial periods when attorneys are unavailable. • Assist in drafting motions and other legal documents required for trials in emergency situations. • Coordinate and oversee e-filing processes to ensure timely submission of legal documents. • Maintain and update calendars to track important court dates, deadlines, and appointments. • Handle court filings with precision, ensuring all required documents are accurate and submitted on time. • Provide support for medical malpractice and personal injury cases by organizing case materials and documentation. • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare trial materials and manage last-minute requests. • Ensure compliance with legal protocols and procedures during all stages of litigation. • Monitor and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
The pay range for this position is 20 to 27. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
