Our client is seeking a Compliance Assurance Analyst to join their team in Waltham, MA. This role is ideal for someone with experience in SOX testing, auditing, compliance assurance, or controls testing who enjoys working collaboratively across the business to identify risks, evaluate controls, and support sustainable remediation efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform 2nd and 3rd line compliance and controls testing activities.
- Execute SOX control testing and assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Evaluate assigned controls and determine whether they adequately mitigate identified risks.
- Identify control gaps, document findings, and support remediation efforts.
- Partner with business stakeholders to develop practical, sustainable corrective action plans.
- Assist with drafting reports, findings, and compliance-related documentation.
- Review business processes and provide recommendations for strengthening control environments.
- Engage with managers and business partners to gather information, ask insightful questions, and validate control effectiveness.
- Support the monitoring of remediation efforts to ensure long-term resolution of identified issues.
- Collaborate closely with team members in a highly interactive and team-oriented environment.

Qualifications:
\n

- Experience with SOX testing, auditing, compliance assurance, risk assessment, or internal controls.
- Strong understanding of what constitutes an effective control and how controls mitigate business risks.
- Ability to identify findings, assess impact, and contribute to remediation planning.
- Strong writing and documentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate observations and recommendations.
- Naturally inquisitive with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable interacting with business users, managers, and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Exposure to compliance, governance, risk management, or internal audit functions is preferred.
