About the Company
Well established and growing company in the Houston, TX area has an exciting opportunity available for a Maintenance Manager.
About the Role
This position will manage the maintenance department including machine installations, safety, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises and assist maintenance staff – planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Must have the ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and instruct others on its operations.
- Must have strong MS Suite knowledge – PLC and ACAD knowledge would be an asset.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 kg.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Spanish language skills desirable in Houston facility.
- A working knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma and 5S methodologies and continuous improvement processes in general.
- Ability to understand, interpret and implement company Policies & Procedures.
- Sound Business Skills & Understanding.
- Working experience in an ISO 9000 environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA and formal safety programs, preferable S.T.O.P.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong team leadership and coaching skills.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from two-year college in a related technical field or certificate or diploma from trade school in related field and five years experience in the maintenance and/or operation of a process manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- BS in mechanical engineering preferred.
Required Skills
- 3-5 years experience in a managerial role in a maintenance or manufacturing capacity.
- 3-5 years experience with spare parts or equipment sourcing.
- 3-5 years experience with ERP or CMMS systems.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in plastics, extrusion, polymers, thermoplastics, HDPE, LLDPE, LDPE, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polyolefins, blow molding, injection molding, or plastic resins would be a plus.
- Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing equipment.
