Description and Responsibilities:
The General Manager partners closely with clients and on-site leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and achievement of performance goals. This role calls for a seasoned leader with experience across startups, 3PL, retail, e-commerce, and reverse logistics, ideally within large-scale warehouse environments exceeding one million square feet. As an exempt, salaried position under FLSA guidelines, success is measured by consistently meeting or exceeding KPIs and service level agreements. The role requires flexibility to cover full shifts, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational demands. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Lead and develop teams by managing direct reports, mentoring 40+ indirect leaders, and fostering strong collaboration across departments like HR, IT, Safety, and Risk.
- Drive operational excellence by overseeing daily execution, maintaining a strong floor presence, ensuring equipment functionality, and upholding safety and quality standards.
- Support business performance through forecasting, contributing to P&L planning, and partnering closely with senior leadership to meet organizational goals.
- Adapt to evolving business needs by balancing administrative and operational responsibilities, supporting onboarding, and working flexible shifts as required.
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will possess most of the following traits:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 10+ years of success in 3PL, retail, e-commerce, or reverse logistics within large warehouse environments (startup experience a plus).
- Proven leadership experience managing multiple salaried leaders and driving team performance.
- Strong strategic and operational planning skills, with the ability to develop and execute both short- and long-term goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including client relationship management, conflict resolution, flexibility to work varied schedules, and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred.
