Schedule: Mon-Fri 7am - 3:30PM and is for product testing. Hours are somewhat flexible.
Recent 4-year degree applicants such as mechanical/electrical engineers will not be considered.
Job Title: Test Technician
Duration: 6+ Months (Possible temp to hire)
Location: Arden Hills, MN 55112
Onsite Role
Responsibilities:
- Product testing
- Most testing is mechanical in nature - pull testing, flex testing, torque testing, extension/retraction testing with some high voltage/current testing and simulated-use testing.
- Most testing is semi-automated with meticulous setup requirements. Electrical/mechanical troubleshooting is uncommon.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols and capture data accurately is a must.
- PC knowledge/experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and file sharing/saving abilities is also required.
- This role will involve R&D testing of medical products (catheters).
- A wide range of tests could be performed including x-ray analysis, tensile testing, fatigue testing, and electrical testing.
- Some testing could be repetitious in nature for short periods; however, there will be a variety of tests and candidate versatility will be important.
Education/Experience:
- AA Degree or equivalent work experience in related discipline (assembler, operator, test technician) and 1 year of related experience.
- Candidate will have knowledge of and experience in the use of test equipment relating to tensile testing, microscope measurement and electrical measurement systems, etc.
- However, if the candidate has past experience operating any type of complex equipment, many of these things can be learned on the job.
- This position requires a high degree of independence and the ability to read and interpret direction.
