Position Summary: The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled building maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning, safety, and aesthetic upkeep of all credit union buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role involves proactive inspections, preventative maintenance, hands-on repairs, vendor coordination, and support for facility improvement projects.
Schedule: Approximately 40 hours within a Monday through Friday work week.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general repairs including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and lighting maintenance.
- Facilitate scheduled preventative maintenance on building systems, including mechanical and fire/life safety systems.
- Respond to and resolve maintenance service requests via work order system in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor and maintain building systems, including HVAC equipment, thermostats, water heaters, electrical panels, and physical security.
- Support the setup, reconfiguration, and takedown of furniture and equipment for events or office moves.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs, ensuring compliance with organizational and safety standards.
- Assist in snow removal, lawn care, or other exterior maintenance needs as required.
- Inspect facilities to identify safety, comfort, or maintenance issues; report and escalate as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Support major facilities projects as assigned.
- Travel periodically to support remote facilities.
- All other duties assigned by AVP Facilities Manager
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in facilities or building maintenance, or equivalent experience in a related trade.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair building systems and equipment.
- Skilled in the safe use of tools and equipment required for maintenance duties.
- Ability to lift moderately heavy loads.
- Strong communication skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and crouching for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling tools, equipment, and repair tasks.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, dust, and outdoor weather.
- Visual acuity to inspect facilities and perform detailed repair work.
- Ability to hear and distinguish audio alarms, mechanical sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments.
- Capability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Must be able to drive between work sites and have the ability to sit for extended periods during travel.
