Position Summary

The Beverage Can Line Operator is responsible for beverage operations including assembling, monitoring, inspecting, and cleaning equipment to prepare products for packaging, as well as batching, packaging, and maintaining departmental records.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Assemble equipment, attach pipes, hoses, fittings, and valves using hand tools.

  • Monitor gauges, meters, flowmeters, and thermometers, adjusting controls to maintain specified conditions.

  • Record temperatures, material amounts, and test results.

  • Operate machinery such as pumps, feeders, and conveyors; regulate valves for product transfer.

  • Sample and test product characteristics (specific gravity, acidity, sugar content) using appropriate instruments.

  • Clean and flush lines and equipment following SOPs; use sterilizing solutions and non-oxygen gases.

  • Measure and weigh ingredients for processing.

  • Manage CO2/N2 gas safely, ensuring proper ventilation.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company safety policies; wear appropriate PPE.

  • Support a diverse and inclusive work environment.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Physical Abilities

  • Daily exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, and noise.

  • Work around mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards.

  • Ability to wear PPE (hair net, beard net, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, harness, slip-resistant footwear).

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift/carry up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, kneel, twist, and communicate professionally.

  • High stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility in a dynamic environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Experience in inventory management and purchasing preferred, especially in a manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with purchasing practices, vendor management, and contract negotiation.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of FDA, GMPs, HACCP, OSHA regulations is a plus.

  • Strong math skills (percentages, basic formulas).

  • Willingness to learn, improve, and work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to drive during early or late hours and in adverse weather conditions.
