About the Role:
We are seeking a Drone Operator Analyst to lead the governance and oversight of our UxS (drone) program. This role ensures operational integrity, compliance, and performance excellence within the utility sector. The successful candidate will define program metrics, enforce corrective actions, manage vendor partnerships, and develop systems for compliance reporting.
While this position focuses heavily on data analytics and governance, field support as a certified drone operator will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance & Oversight: Establish frameworks for UxS operations and safety; define and monitor performance metrics and enforce corrective actions for deviations.
- Data Analytics & Reporting: Develop tools for performance tracking; analyze data (using Python, SQL, Power BI) to identify trends and root causes; deliver timely reports to leadership.
- Compliance Management: Ensure strict adherence to FAA regulations and company policies; coordinate pilot certifications, fleet management, and FAA Part 107 documentation.
- Vendor & Partnership Management: Lead procurement of services/software; manage vendor contracts and relationships; collaborate with Finance on budget alignment.
- Program Development: Execute the strategic roadmap for program expansion; integrate drone operations into utility workflows; research innovative operational solutions.
- Field Support: Provide operational support as a drone pilot when required.
Minimum Qualifications (Must Haves):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aviation, Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of industry experience.
- Data & Analytics Tech Stack: Proficiency in Python, Oracle/SQL, and Power BI (DAX, Query, Modeling) is required, along with Tableau.
- Automation & Web Development: Experience with Power Applications, Power Automate, and Web Development.
- Drone Certification: FAA Part 107 certification is mandatory (or the ability to obtain it within 45 days of employment).
- Compliance Tools: Proficiency in SharePoint and MS Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in drone operations or aviation program management.
- 25+ logged flight hours.
- Active Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- Working knowledge of UAS regulatory environments, airspace safety, and drone data integration
