Job Title: Warehouse Worker / Supply Specialist

Job Description

The Supply Specialist plays a key role in supporting clinical operations by performing a wide range of materials, distribution, and logistics tasks within a medical complex. This position focuses on determining replenishment requirements, locating and selecting medical supplies, documenting the receipt and issue of materials, and ensuring accurate and timely distribution of supplies and equipment throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Determine replenishment requirements for medical supplies and materials to ensure clinical areas remain fully stocked.
  • Locate, select, and pull medical supplies and equipment according to order and inventory needs.
  • Accurately document the receipt, issue, and distribution of supplies and equipment using established recordkeeping procedures.
  • Perform picking, packing, labeling, and packaging tasks for internal orders and shipments.
  • Carry out shipping and receiving activities, including verifying incoming deliveries and preparing outgoing shipments.
  • Use RF scanners and other scanning devices to record materials, track inventory, and update supply chain systems.
  • Conduct physical inventories and cycle counts to maintain accurate warehouse and supply records.
  • Perform quality control checks on materials and supplies to ensure accuracy, condition, and compliance with standards.
  • Handle materials safely and efficiently, including stocking shipments and organizing inventory in designated storage areas.
  • Communicate effectively via email and in person with team members and other departments regarding supply status, issues, and requests.
  • Utilize computer systems, including Microsoft Office and logistics or SAP-based applications, to manage orders, inventory data, and documentation.
  • Support overall supply chain and logistics operations within the hospital environment to ensure timely availability of critical medical supplies.
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented atmosphere, assisting colleagues and contributing to a positive, efficient work environment.

Essential Skills

  • Associate degree and at least one year of related work experience in materials management, warehouse, logistics, or a similar field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues and other departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform recordkeeping tasks, including documenting shipping and receiving activities, physical inventories, and quality control checks.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
  • Experience with material handling, logistics, and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, including picking, packing, and order processing.
  • Ability to use RF scanners and other scanning devices to record and track materials.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse or healthcare logistics environment.
  • Physical ability to stand on feet for the entire shift.
  • Physical ability to pick orders and stock shipments safely and efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare logistics or hospital materials management environment is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar logistics and inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes, warehouse inventory control, and distribution workflows.
  • Ability to perform packaging, labeling, and order picking with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfort working with email and electronic communication tools to coordinate logistics and inventory activities.
  • Understanding of quality control procedures for medical supplies and equipment.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to collaborate effectively in a climate-controlled, clinical setting.
  • Experience using a scan gun or similar handheld scanning device in a logistics or warehouse role.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled hospital environment focused on supporting clinical operations. Team members work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere where communication and cooperation are essential. The dress code requires scrubs, reflecting the clinical setting and close integration with healthcare activities. The standard shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., providing a consistent schedule in a structured materials management and warehouse environment that utilizes modern scanning, inventory, and logistics technologies.E

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
