Position: Senior Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction
Location: Elk River, MN

Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and leading the planning and execution of various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in estimating, project management, and field operations, ensuring projects are successfully executed from the bidding stage through completion.
Estimating Responsibilities

Manage the full bid preparation process, including reviewing project documents, soliciting subcontractor/vendor quotes, preparing cost estimates, and submitting proposals.

Collaborate with clients, engineers, and vendors to ensure competitive and accurate bids.

Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings to evaluate project scope and conditions.

Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis using estimating software tools.

Support the transition from project award to execution, ensuring a smooth handoff to the field team.

Develop and communicate project schedules with the Superintendent and project team.

Participate in weekly coordination meetings with internal teams.
Project Management Responsibilities

Oversee multiple construction projects from initiation through completion.

Manage subcontractors and vendors to maintain schedules and budget requirements.

Track project costs, identify inefficiencies, and prepare change orders as required.

Ensure all project documentation, reporting, and billing are completed accurately and on time.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships.

Ensure compliance with jobsite safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Experience with construction software such as:

Estimating software platforms

Project tracking and scheduling tools

Construction accounting systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and OSHA guidelines.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
