Position Overview

We are partnered with an excellent organization that is seeking a Director of Food & Nutrition Services to oversee the operations, financial performance, programs, and personnel for Food & Nutrition Services and a Diabetes & Nutrition Center within a healthcare setting. This role will lead strategic initiatives, quality improvement, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and collaboration across clinical and operational departments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Food & Nutrition Services and Diabetes & Nutrition programs.
  • Develop and manage operational initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Establish and manage annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor financial, clinical, quality, safety, and staffing performance.
  • Direct staffing and resource allocation based on patient volume, budgets, and program needs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient care, service quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee menu development, patient meal services, and therapeutic nutrition programs.
  • Develop and monitor clinical and quality improvement measures.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical, production, and operational teams to integrate nutrition services into patient care.
  • Present program and financial updates to leadership.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutrition Education, or a related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or medical food service setting.
  • Prior management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, therapeutic diets, patient meal delivery, and healthcare food service.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and program management.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure healthcare environment.


Licensure/Certifications

  • ServSafe certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD), Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), or Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP) strongly preferred.
