Job Description

Join Our Team as an R&D Engineering Intern!

Are you ready to dive into the world of innovation and make a real impact? We’re looking for a curious, hands-on, and motivated R&D Engineering Intern to help us push the boundaries of polymer materials and manufacturing processes. If you love solving problems, experimenting in the lab, and seeing your ideas come to life on a production scale, this is the opportunity for you!

What You’ll Do

  • Explore and Innovate: Characterize and evaluate polymer materials for extrusion and injection molding to uncover sustainable alternatives and improve processing efficiency.
  • Get Your Hands Dirty: Work in both lab and production environments—pilot trials, real-world validations, and everything in between.
  • Analyze and Report: Turn data into insights by compiling reports and sharing your findings with peers and leadership.
  • Collaborate and Create: Support engineering projects, develop standardized processes, and contribute to safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Plastics, Materials, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Chemistry (minimum 3 semesters completed) OR 1 year of tech school in instrumentation or related field.
  • GPA: 2.8 or higher.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and technical writing.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization and thrive in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable with standing, bending, and moving materials during an 8–10 hour shift.
  • Reliable attendance is essential.

Why You’ll Love This Internship

  • Hands-on experience with cutting-edge materials and processes.
  • A chance to make a real impact on sustainability and efficiency.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers who love to share knowledge.
  • Hybrid mix of lab work and production trials—never a dull moment!
