POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical Healthcare Integration Engineer/Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of healthcare data interfaces and interoperability solutions that enable seamless, secure communication across diverse healthcare systems.
As a key liaison between clinical operations and technical teams, you will ensure that systems are integrated effectively, with a strong emphasis on data accuracy, patient safety, and enterprise-wide unique patient identification. Your work will directly contribute to improving healthcare delivery by enabling real-time data exchange and supporting clinical workflows across platforms.
** This is a fully remote position with minimal travel required for production deployment events and periodic training sessions or meetings. **
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with clinical, technical, and vendor teams to gather and document integration requirements.
- Analyze healthcare workflows and data exchange needs to support interface design and development.
- Assist in the configuration, testing, and validation of interfaces using tools such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, or Cloverleaf.
- Monitor interface performance and troubleshoot data transmission issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Interpret and map healthcare data formats including HL7 v2.x, FHIR, CCD/C-CDA, and X12.
- Maintain detailed documentation of interface specifications, data mappings, and workflow diagrams.
- Implement and maintain enterprise-wide patient identity management solutions to ensure consistent and accurate patient identification.
- Support data quality initiatives by identifying and resolving data integrity issues across systems.
- Participate in go-live support, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance of integration solutions.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational policies.
- Stay informed on industry trends, interoperability standards, and emerging technologies.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare IT or integration analyst role.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, X12, and CDA.
- Experience working with EHR systems (e.g., Meditech, Epic, Cerner, or Allscripts).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with EMPI solutions (e.g., Verato, Intersystems EMPI, IBM Infosphere, or Rhapsody EMPI).
- Excellent communication, documentation skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with interface engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Corepoint).
- Understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Certification in HL7, FHIR, or healthcare integration platforms is a plus.
- Experience with project management or Agile methodologies.
