We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join a finance team in Saint Paul, Minnesota on a Long-term Contract basis. This position supports day-to-day accounting operations by helping maintain accurate records, process financial activity, and contribute to reporting and budgeting efforts. The role offers an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career to gain hands-on experience across payables, receivables, payroll support, and contract-related financial tracking.
Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, employee card activity, and other payable items while recording each transaction accurately in the accounting system.
• Prepare customer invoices and enter receivable activity to help maintain timely and organized billing records.
• Review outstanding approval items related to payables, receivables, and card transactions, and coordinate with internal staff to keep workflows moving on schedule.
• Support payroll administration by entering time records and assisting with routine payroll-related updates and processing tasks.
• Assign costs correctly across programs and funding sources to ensure financial data aligns with reporting needs.
• Assist with financial administration for government-funded agreements, including monthly invoicing and budget tracking.
• Contribute to month-end close by completing assigned reconciliations, entries, and supporting tasks within established deadlines.
• Help organize schedules, records, and supporting documentation needed for annual audit activities, including compliance-related audit preparation.
• Provide support during the yearly budgeting cycle by gathering financial information and preparing background materials for review.

• Experience or foundational knowledge in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and accounting transaction entry.
• Ability to work accurately with detailed financial information and maintain organized records.
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles and standard finance processes.
• Comfortable using financial systems and spreadsheet tools to enter, track, and review transactions.
• Strong follow-up skills with the ability to coordinate approvals and meet recurring deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with finance team members and internal stakeholders.
