Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals to identify problems accurately.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs and modifications.
- Conduct inspections of equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to assemble and disassemble machinery as needed for repairs or upgrades.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs and repair status.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and parts used for each piece of equipment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heavy equipment technology.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting as required (up to 50 pounds).
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques.
- Basic electrical experience is beneficial for troubleshooting electrical components of machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics related to mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Qualifications
- Proven experience servicing and repairing engines manufactured by Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and John Deere is required.
- Experience with pump wet-end servicing and complete rebuilds.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including rotational shift schedules.
- Willingness to perform both in-shop and field work throughout West Texas and New Mexico in a service truck.
