We are seeking a motivated Litigation Law Clerk or Legal Assistant to join a busy legal team. This position is ideal for a second-year law student (2L) or a recent JD graduate with a strong interest in litigation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience conducting legal research, drafting legal documents—including complaints—and filing with state and/or federal courts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support active litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, including complaints, motions, and supporting memoranda
- Prepare and organize case files, exhibits, and legal documents
- Assist with electronic court filings (state and federal systems)
- Collaborate with attorneys on litigation strategy and case development
- Maintain case calendars and track deadlines
Qualifications:
- 2L or 3L law student, or Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Demonstrated interest in civil litigation
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills
- Experience drafting and filing complaints preferred
- Familiarity with court procedures and e-filing systems
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Preferred:
- Prior internship or clerkship experience at a law firm or legal department
- Knowledge of civil procedure and litigation timelines
