Position Overview:
The HOA General Manager is responsible for the overall daily operations, management, and maintenance of a high-rise residential building in accordance with the HOA’s governing documents, California civil codes, and the direction of the Board of Directors. The role requires strong leadership, property management expertise, and exceptional organizational skills to ensure resident satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
We are seeking an individual with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to manage tasks through to completion. The ideal candidate will be highly responsive, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and follow through on multiple responsibilities while keeping the Board and residents well-informed.
Work Environment:
- Primarily an on-site role at a high-rise residential community, with flexibility for occasional remote work and hybrid scheduling based on operational needs.
- Must be available on-site for emergencies and key resident/vendor interactions.
- Monthly HOA Board meetings are held virtually.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of property or HOA management experience, preferably in a high-rise setting.
- Strong knowledge of California HOA law, including the Davis-Stirling Act.
- CMCA, AMS, or PCAM designation preferred.
- Proficient in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and follow projects through to completion.
- Strong conflict resolution, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with the Board’s direction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the property, including building systems, janitorial services, landscaping, security, and front desk staff.
- Develop and implement operating procedures, emergency preparedness plans, and vendor protocols.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair work.
2. Financial Oversight
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget in collaboration with the Board and accounting professionals.
- Monitor monthly financial statements, approve invoices, and ensure adherence to the approved budget.
- Manage collection efforts for delinquent accounts and communicate financial issues to the Board.
3. Board & Governance Support
- Attend Board and committee meetings; prepare agendas, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Provide professional guidance and recommendations to the Board based on best practices and legal considerations.
- Ensure compliance with Davis-Stirling Act and other relevant California laws and codes.
4. Resident & Community Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners and residents regarding property matters.
- Respond to inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Promote a positive community atmosphere and enforce community rules and regulations consistently.
5. Vendor & Contract Management
- Source, negotiate, and manage contracts for services including maintenance, security, landscaping, pest control, elevator servicing, etc.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure quality, contract compliance, and cost effectiveness.
6. Administrative Oversight
- Maintain accurate records of all HOA documents, contracts, insurance policies, and resident communications.
- Oversee the administration of move-in/move-out procedures and facility reservations.
- Coordinate insurance renewals, claims, and risk management activities.
