Graham Technologies is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support the maintenance, configuration, and administration of enterprise IT systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in system performance optimization, security compliance, and infrastructure integrity to ensure high availability and recoverability of mission-critical environments.
Location: Washington, DC
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business operations.
- Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software applications.
- Schedule and manage installations and upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Monitor and tune systems for optimum performance, identifying and resolving performance issues proactively.
- Ensure data integrity of workstations and servers by evaluating and implementing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Implement and maintain a schedule of system backups and database archive operations to support data/media recoverability.
- Develop, document, and promote standard operating procedures for hardware and software management.
- Conduct routine audits of systems to ensure compliance with configuration standards, policies, and security protocols.
- Develop and maintain a configuration database/library of hardware and software assets, including all supporting documentation.
Required Skills:
- Must possess active DoD Top Secret
- Demonstrated experience with:
- System installation, configuration, and patch management
- Performance tuning and infrastructure optimization
- Backup and disaster recovery operations
- Maintaining IT security and compliance through SOPs and audits
- Configuration documentation and asset tracking
Desired Skills:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- Experience supporting federal systems, classified networks, or secure data centers
- Familiarity with CMDB tools, infrastructure monitoring, or audit/reporting systems
