Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Lead Painter to prepare, paint, and finish truck bodies and equipment components

while overseeing daily paint department operations. This role ensures high-quality, durable finishes and efficient

workflow, including managing materials and equipment within the paint area.

-Daily Responsibilities

 Oversee daily operations of the paint department and/or paint booth.

 Prepare truck bodies, parts, and equipment for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming surfaces.

 Apply paint, coatings, and finishes, using the appropriate equipment for the job.

 Select & mix paint products according to manufacturer and/or specifications.

 Maintain paint equipment, PPE, tools, and work area in clean and working condition

 Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and use of PPE

 Identify and correct defects such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage and perform touch-ups and rework as

needed

 Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and OSHA regulations

 Manage inventory of paint, coatings, and related supplies and coordinate with vendors and suppliers to order

materials needed for paint operations, ensuring cost efficiency and availability for timely delivery of materials

 Ensure proper maintenance and operation of paint booth systems and ventilation equipment

 Wear and maintain all required safety and health PPE, including a respirator, in the manner recommended by

the equipment manufacturer.

 Follow all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials and report any

deviations to management.

 Cooperates and aid other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.

 Work closely with fabrication and installation teams to meet production deadlines.

 Other tasks as assigned.

-Required Skills

 Minimum 10 yrs. experience in industry-specific painting.

 Operates and uses all paint booth equipment properly and safely.

 Experience with scheduling and forecasting paint & supply needs.

 Strong knowledge of color theory and application techniques.

 Ability to read blueprints and understand project specifications.

 Skills in welding or building structures are a plus.

 Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

 Experience using a forklift.

 Effective communication skills and a positive attitude towards collaboration.
