Associate, senior attorney, or Of Counsel opening

Clemens Warren Pinkerton Siems is growing again and we have an immediate opening for an associate, senior attorney, or Of Counsel in our beautiful downtown San Diego office. We are a busy, boutique family law firm which handles complex and high asset matters. Our office enjoys a collaborative, tightknit workplace where we genuinely enjoy working with each other, and we are looking for the right attorney to join our team. The attorneys and partners in our office handle a considerable amount of litigation/mediation and we’re seeking an attorney who is highly detail-oriented, motivated, and hard working. Attorneys with 3+ years family law experience and/or certified family law specialists are encouraged to apply, but for the right applicant we will also consider training a newer attorney.

Compensation varies and is based on level of experience, with bonuses and originations available. We have high standards and want someone who is interested in growing with our firm long term.

Responsibilities (depending on experience level)

• Litigation support for partners and senior attorneys, including assistance with caseload and clients.
• Ability to independently manage own caseload (depending on experience).
• Drafting pleadings and points and authorities.
• Drafting and responding to discovery.
• Legal research.
• Court appearances, RFO’s, FRC’s, depositions, trials, mediations, etc. (as appropriate).
• Interacting with clients and preparing client declarations.
• Trial and mediation support (preparing briefs, legal analysis, etc.)

Qualifications

• JD from accredited law school.
• Licensed by State Bar of CA.
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to handle your own clients and handle a dissolution case from initial Petition to Judgment.
• Ability to maintain contemporaneous billing and meet billable hours goal.
• Experience with family law software a plus (Xspouse, etc.)
• Experience with Clio billing software a plus.
• Experience with Westlaw or equivalent legal research program/AI a plus.
• 3+ years family law experience and/or Certified Family Law Specialist a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

• $100,000 to $200,000+ annually (with opportunity for bonuses) depending on experience and billable hour goal.
