Job Description:
Clark Electric is looking for a self-starter and experienced Electrical Service Technician to join our team. Employee will be involved in performing a variety of tasks. Duties include, but are not limited to, setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure for commercial clients, installing new electrical systems, repairing, and maintaining existing electrical systems, and service troubleshooting. Service Technician will report to the Supervisor or person designated by the Supervisor to perform assigned functions.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately troubleshoot electrical service requests and present repair options to the client.
- Install electrical apparatus on new and existing structures, fixtures, and equipment.
- Install safety and distribution components, service panel upgrades, re-location of equipment (switches, resistors, circuit-breakers, panels, meters, meter combos, underground services, etc.) while minimizing waste of materials.
- Measure, cut, thread, ream, assemble, and install conduit, using such tools as hacksaw, band saw, pipe threader and conduit bender.
- Pulling wire; splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or other means, twisting wires together, and applying terminal connectors and or tape.
- Connect wiring in electrical circuits according to local and NEC codes.
- Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
- Connect wiring to light fixtures, power equipment, motors, devices, and other electrical apparatus, using hand tools and power tools.
- Accurately install conduit, wire, pre-fab assemblies, panel boards, light fixtures, devices, and other equipment per layout by the Supervisor or designated person.
- Trouble- shoot electrical branch circuits and feeders.
- Assure quality of the installation by installing correctly the first time.
- Note and report any deficiencies or upgrades not on original work order.
- Suggest necessary work needed to provide further repairs.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Complete required paperwork.
- Demonstrate knowledge of all tools and equipment.
- Performs any additional duties assigned by Electrical Service Manager.
- Always maintain a fully stocked and organized truck.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of commercial electrical experience
- 3 years of electrical service experience.
- Experience and knowledge of electrical applications, permits, electrical maintenance goals, facility maintenance application and PM standards.
- Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Applicant must be familiar with a variety of the electrical field's concepts, practices, best practice, and procedures including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes and Lighting Systems where applicable.
- Maintain a professional appearance and approach.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work
- Basic math skills and ability to read plans
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities required. Sales experience is a plus.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Have a valid FL Driver’s license
- Dependable transportations
- Must be able to pass screenings (background, drug test, and MVR)
- Demonstrate proficiency with the use of common electrical hand tools, electrical drawings, and blueprints.
- Commercial electrical construction experience including EMT, GRC, and MC cable experience preferred.
- Positively identify colors of wire and other items as required.
- Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
- Must have the ability to use safely the required power tools.
- Must be able to safely operate equipment (trenchers, lift trucks, aerial lifts, etc.)
- Operate and work from mechanical personal lifts (electric or gas powered).
- Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment.
- Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Handbook.
- Operate two handed tools as required.
Physical Functions:
- Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
- Able to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Tolerant to prolonged standing and movement on foot.
- Climb ladders (all types).
- Complete overhead work for extended periods of time.
- Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
