A Software Programmer 4 (Business Objects Developer) is needed to support business intelligence reporting and development. This is a hybrid role based in Washington, D.C., requiring three days onsite and two days remote each week.
Responsibilities

Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Reviews, and Retrospectives.

Estimate level of effort (LOE) for backlog items and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.

Perform data analysis and profiling against source systems and data warehouses.

Implement O&M changes and deploy new reports/universes as needed.

Utilize advanced Business Objects (BO) functionalities such as Queries, Slice and Dice, Drill Down, Variables, Breaks, Sorting, Filters, and Formulae.

Develop and execute unit test plans, scripts, and conditions to validate requirements.

Coordinate prototype reviews, demos, and fine-tune report deliverables.

Collaborate with SMEs for solution implementation and deployment activities.

Prepare user training materials and support business users in understanding BI 4.2 environments and tools.

Conduct performance tuning for Universes and Reports.

Troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and maintain Business Objects Universes and design documentation.

Assist business analysts and testers during system testing.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelors degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted).

8+ years of experience designing complex BI 4.2 Universes.

8+ years of experience creating advanced reports in BI 4.24.3.

Proven experience with Business Objects Universe Design Tool (UDT) and Information Design Tool (IDT).

Hands-on experience converting Universes from UDT to IDT.

Experience with Tableau.

Strong SQL and data analysis skills.

Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to work in a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

Ability to obtain and maintain an AOUSC Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
-
5+ years of Oracle PL/SQL experience, with at least 2 years in PL/SQL and an equivalent programming language (T-SQL, Postgres SQL).

3+ years of SAP Data Services or equivalent ETL tools (SSIS, DataStage, Informatic).
-
5+ years working with relational and dimensional data models.
-
Experience with ETL and Tableau strongly desired.

Additional experience with IDT and Universe conversions (UDT to IDT).
