We are seeking a Garden Maintenance Technician to care for and maintain residential and commercial garden beds. Youll help keep landscapes healthy, vibrant, and weed-free while working with a skilled team in some of Duluths most beautiful properties.
Qualifications:
- 12 years of experience in garden maintenance, landscaping, or related work
- Basic horticulture training or coursework (preferred)
- Knowledge of common plants, shrubs, and trees used in the Northland
- Ability to identify basic plant health issues (pests, disease, deficiencies)
- Comfort with physical outdoor work (bending, kneeling, lifting, standing)
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions
Responsibilities: (These duties are not just limited to the below; they will also include any area where Miller Creek needs assistance.)
Garden Bed Care & Maintenance
- Remove and prevent weeds using best practices (hand-pulling, hoeing, mulching)
- Cultivate and amend soil to support healthy plant growth
- Prune and trim plants, shrubs, and small trees for health and aesthetics
Planting & Transplanting
- Install seasonal flowers, shrubs, and other plants
- Remove and replace dead or damaged plant material
Mulching & Edging
- Apply mulch to retain moisture and improve appearance
- Maintain clean, defined edges around garden beds
Pest & Disease Management
- Identify common pests and plant health issues
- Take appropriate action to protect plants
General Maintenance
- Keep garden beds free of debris and litter
- Monitor plant health and watering needs
Irrigation (Training Provided)
- Assist with installation and maintenance of irrigation systems
- Help troubleshoot and repair common irrigation issues
- Support system inspections and adjustments

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in nature and have a keen eye for creating and maintaining beautiful landscapes.
Job Type:
- Full-time, Seasonal
- 40 hours per week
Pay:
- $19 $23 per hour
- 30-day Apprenticeship Period
Schedule:
- MondayThursday (10-hour shifts)
- Potential Fridays
- Overtime available
