INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST Industry: Manufacturing Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to support daily manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring materials, receiving and organizing inventory, and ensuring materials are available to support production. The ideal candidate has experience with inventory control, warehouse operations, material handling, data entry, and shipping/receiving and is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, components, packaging, and finished products.
  • Receive, inspect, count, and properly document incoming materials.
  • Verify quantities, part numbers, labels, and documentation against purchase orders and shipping paperwork.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Enter and update inventory transactions accurately in the company's inventory or ERP system.
  • Track materials moving between receiving, warehouse, production, and finished goods areas.
  • Stage and deliver materials to production departments according to production schedules.
  • Maintain organized and clearly labeled inventory locations.
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities as needed.
  • Identify damaged, missing, or incorrect materials and report discrepancies to management.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, transfers, receipts, and adjustments.
  • Communicate with production, purchasing, warehouse, shipping, and management teams regarding inventory needs.
  • Help ensure production has the necessary materials available to prevent delays.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse, manufacturing, shipping/receiving, or material handling preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to read and understand inventory records, labels, purchase orders, and shipping documents.
  • Ability to perform physical inventory counts and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP, WMS, Excel, or inventory management systems is preferred.
