Are you an experienced automotive technician with a passion for precision alignments and suspension work? At Gills Point S, we're looking for a skilled Alignment Mechanic who takes pride in diagnosing vehicle concerns, delivering quality repairs, and providing outstanding customer service.
As an Alignment Mechanic, you'll specialize in vehicle alignments while performing a variety of mechanical repairs and maintenance services. You'll use advanced alignment equipment and diagnostic tools to ensure vehicles are operating safely, efficiently, and according to manufacturer specifications.
This role is ideal for an experienced technician who enjoys a mix of suspension work, brake repairs, preventative maintenance, and light mechanical repairs.
Responsibilities
Alignment & Suspension
- Perform four-wheel and front-end alignments using computerized alignment equipment.
- Diagnose and repair steering and suspension components.
- Inspect shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, and related components.
- Evaluate tire wear patterns and recommend appropriate repairs or replacements.
- Ensure vehicles meet manufacturer alignment specifications.
Brake Systems
- Diagnose and repair brake systems, including pads, rotors, calipers, drums, hydraulic components, and parking brakes.
- Perform brake inspections and recommend repairs to ensure safe vehicle operation.
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform oil changes and routine maintenance services.
- Complete multi-point vehicle inspections.
- Identify maintenance needs before they become major repairs.
Light Mechanical Repair
- Diagnose and replace common engine accessories and components, including:
- Water pumps
- Alternators
- Starters
- Serpentine belts
- Belt tensioners and pulleys
- Power steering pumps
- Hoses and cooling system components
- Perform minor engine repairs and preventative maintenance services.
Customer Service & Teamwork
- Clearly communicate inspection findings and repair recommendations.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation.
- Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- 3+ years of automotive repair experience preferred.
- Strong experience performing wheel alignments and suspension repairs.
- Experience with brake repair and preventative maintenance.
- Proficiency performing light mechanical repairs, including cooling system and accessory drive components.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using alignment machines and automotive diagnostic equipment.
- ASE Certifications are a plus but not required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
