Position Title: Service & Maintenance Technician

Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Service & Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role requires traveling between Sunnyvale and San Francisco to perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks across residential properties. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.

Duties and Key Responsibilities: (including but are not limited to the following): Service Technician will be responsible for the following:

  • Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair duties on buildings, facilities, fixtures, and equipment, including tasks in drywall, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Independently conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to both interior and exterior building systems.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and resolve maintenance issues across multiple trades on multiple properties; Coordinate subcontractors and vendors and/or Earthtone personnel to perform necessary repairs and maintenance
  • Repair and maintain structural elements such as doors, windows, cabinets, walls, partitions, flooring, and drywall across multiple properties
  • Install and repair equipment, appliances furnishings and finishes as required.
  • Prepare surfaces and perform touch-ups, refinishing, taping, sanding, and other painting-related tasks.
  • Read and interpret basic sketches, drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations and address customer concerns with a focus on enhancing customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, company policies, and governmental directives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment including finish protection as needed
  • Inspect facilities regularly to identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues.
  • Continuously seek improvements to maintenance operations and service quality.
  • Complete and maintain all paperwork, work orders, time and material cost etc and submit for billing by PM team
  • Communicate in a professional and upbeat manner with all residents, trade partners, and team members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Levels –torpedo-24, 48”,
  • Extension cords- 1@ #12 x 50’ and 1@ #14 x 25’,
  • Drill bits. 1/16th to 1 1/2’

Power tools (professional quality):

  • 7-1/4” circular saw,
  • Sawzall,
  • Fein tool (reciprocating saw), (Optional/Recommended)
  • Random orbit sander,
  • 4-1/2” angle grinder,
  • Routers-standard, (Optional/Recommended)
  • Portable compressor, (Optional/Recommended)
  • Nail guns- framing finish, (Optional/Recommended)
  • ½ chuck power drill,
  • Cordless drill and impact driver set,
  • Van or truck suitable for tool transportation

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school graduation or GED equivalent vocational training or certification in relevant trades preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in construction and facilities maintenance
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and repair equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a construction environment. The employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions, construction noise, moving mechanical parts, vibration, dust, fumes, airborne particles, rough or uneven ground and working in elevated work environment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on job sites, equipment noise can be a much higher level for sustained periods.
