POSITION TITLE: FACILITIES TECHNICIAN

STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

DEPARTMENT: ADMINISTRATION

SUPERVISOR: FACILITIES MANAGER


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the immediate supervision of the Facilities and Property Manager, this position provides delivery and other ancillary services for all MACT Health Board sites. Performs a variety of routine semi-skilled maintenance for all MACT Health Board facilities, but not limited to, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and landscaping trades work. Ensures that the facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.


The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assembles, repairs, maintains, and moves furniture, such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.
  2. Conducts routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; replaces filters; identifies and reports more complex maintenance needs to supervisor.
  3. Inspects facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to supervisor.
  4. Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
  5. Delivers all items identified by properly authorized staff to other MACT Health Board locations.
  6. Assists with placing contents of clinic safe into secure bags/enclosures as prescribed by MACT Fiscal Policies and Procedures.
  7. Performs landscaping and maintenance tasks.
  8. Self-motivated, self-directed, team oriented, responsible and reliable, with a positive attitude and a proactive style.
  9. Performs other duties, special events as assigned for the efficient operation of MACT clinics and administration office.
  10. Must adhere to the MACT Health Board, Inc. Corporate Code of Conduct.
  11. Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  3. Ability to be approved for coverage by MACT auto insurance provider
  4. Have customer service skills and knowledge of semi-skilled maintenance trades of work.
  5. Have good communication skills.
  6. Be familiar with the local area.
  7. Must be punctual and reliable
  8. Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  9. 5 years of trade work experience.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
  2. Must be willing to receive annual influenza vaccines.
  3. Possesses a valid form of identification as listed on the U. S. Department of Justice I-9 form and processed/authorized using E Verify.
  4. Must adhere to the MACT Health Board, Inc. Corporate Code of Conduct.
  5. Valid CA Driver’s license and automobile insurance.
