Role Overview
Are you a technical professional who thrives at the intersection of Network Operations and Project Coordination? We are seeking a Network Change Management Analyst to serve as the "Air Traffic Controller" for one of the largest fiber-optic networks in the United States.
In this critical role, you will manage the lifecycle of network maintenance events, ensuring that infrastructure upgrades and repairs are executed with surgical precision and minimal impact on our nationwide customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance Coordination: Lead the approval and scheduling of internal and vendor maintenance events across a massive fiber footprint.
- Technical Impact Analysis: Perform deep-dive research into circuit paths (SONET, IP, WDM) to assess and validate the potential "blast radius" of maintenance activities.
- MOP Assessment: Review and approve technical Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to ensure field technicians follow safety and connectivity standards.
- NMS Monitoring: Utilize Network Management Systems to diagnose, troubleshoot, and clear alarms resulting from Change Management activity.
- Conflict Resolution: Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts between internal outages, vendor work, and customer requirements.
- Customer Advocacy: Act as the primary point of contact for technical inquiries, ensuring proactive communication and timely service restoration.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5 years in Telecommunications (NOC, Network Ops, or Change Management).
- Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with SONET, IP protocols, Layer 2 switching, WDM, and Dark Fiber services.
- Systems Expertise: Working knowledge of Circuit Inventory Systems (e.g., Netcracker, OSP Insight) and NMS alarm monitoring tools.
- Hardware Familiarity: Exposure to Cisco (ONS), Juniper (MX/EX), Ciena/Nortel (6500), or Infinera platforms.
- Certifications (Preferred): CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, or Network+.
- Attention to Detail: Extreme precision in record validation and impact assessment is required.
