About the Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to join our operations team. This role is ideal for an organized administrative professional who enjoys working with data, coordinating with vendors, and supporting purchasing and inventory functions.
The Purchasing Clerk will play a key role in ensuring the timely procurement and receipt of materials, maintaining accurate records, and supporting reporting and inventory processes. This position focuses primarily on administrative and clerical purchasing functions rather than supplier negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and enter purchase orders for sourced goods
- Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries, and follow-up activities
- Track and expedite incoming shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Receive purchased goods into inventory and coordinate warehouse check-in and storage
- Resolve shipping and order discrepancies
- Assist Accounts Payable with invoice discrepancy resolution
- Conduct monthly inventory cycle counts and support year-end audits
- Coordinate and manage product sample programs
- Ensure labeling requirements are met for sourced goods
- Generate and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports
- Support ongoing process improvements and operational initiatives
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of administrative, clerical, purchasing support, or related experience
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment
This is a 100% onsite position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The Purchasing Clerk will report directly to the Director of Operations and work closely with the Customer Service Shipping Supervisor, who will provide day-to-day training and support.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Angola, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
