We are actively recruiting for an IT Systems Analyst. GBS offers Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k and 401k Match, STD, LTD and Life Insurance with Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Voluntary Life Insurance with Accidental Death and Dismemberment and Paid Time Off.
GBS is looking for an IT systems analyst to support Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS). The successful candidate will support the required activities for IT projects or initiatives related to modernizing the OHSS report production line and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Job Functions
- Provide auto report process support, including help modernize the OHSS report production line
- Support ongoing or ad-hoc report requirements based on management priority, such as report management support, industry best practice research, information collection, report automation strategies assistance, potential technology adoption, solution adaptability, problem identification, documentation, quality assurance, data management, database management, and others
- Ensure all necessary technical SOPs are developed and documented based on the Federal Government's best practices: the procedures shall be measured, validated, and verified by the upcoming OHSS business operation and adjusted as necessary to address any problems identified.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an IT systems analyst or similar role, with demonstrated expertise in analyzing, designing, and implementing technology solutions
- Experience developing and maintaining web interfaces using modern frameworks and technologies (e.g., React, Angular, or similar)
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL databases, including database modeling, Structure Query Language (SQL) querying, performance tuning, and data migration
- Experience gathering and documenting system requirements, creating system specifications, and performing impact analyses
- Familiarity with report automation methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in programming languages, including Python and Java
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between business stakeholders and technical teams
Education / Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
