Apex Power LLC is seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, and service various pump systems and related equipment in the field and/or shop environment. The Pump Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing preventative maintenance, completing repairs, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and service pump systems and related components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, engines, hoses, fittings, valves, and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and basic electrical issues related to pump operation.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged parts including seals, bearings, gaskets, impellers, hoses, belts, filters, and fittings.
  • Assist with setup, operation, and testing of pumps and support equipment on job sites.
  • Perform basic diagnostics on diesel and gas-powered equipment when applicable.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, service reports, inspection forms, and repair documentation.
  • Follow all company, customer, and job site safety requirements.
  • Communicate equipment issues, needed parts, and repair status to supervisors or customers.
  • Maintain tools, service trucks, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed for field service, emergency calls, or project support.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a pump mechanic, equipment mechanic, generator technician, diesel mechanic, or field service technician preferred.
  • Knowledge of pumps, engines, motors, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment in the field.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read service manuals, parts diagrams, and work orders.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stand, climb, and work in outdoor/job site conditions as needed.

Preferred Experience

  • Diesel or natural gas engine experience.
  • Generator or power generation experience.
  • Industrial, rental equipment, construction, oilfield, municipal, or wastewater pump experience.
  • Experience with centrifugal pumps, trash pumps, bypass pumps, hydraulic pumps, fuel transfer pumps, or dewatering systems.

Work Environment

This position may require shop work, field service, travel, outdoor work, and work in industrial or construction environments. Overtime, after-hours calls, and out-of-town assignments may be required depending on project needs.
