About the Role:

The Guest Room Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all hotel guests. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness in guest rooms and public areas, directly impacting guest satisfaction and overall hotel reputation. The role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to meet and exceed guest expectations. Guest Room Attendants collaborate closely with housekeeping supervisors and other hotel staff to ensure timely room readiness and address any guest requests or concerns promptly. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to creating a positive and memorable guest experience that encourages repeat visits and positive reviews.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, including standing, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and walking for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, with a commitment to safety protocols.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards related to cleaning and sanitation.
  • Customer service experience demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Certification in hospitality or housekeeping training programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and replenishing supplies such as toiletries and linens.
  • Inspect rooms for maintenance issues and report any damages or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and inquiries related to room amenities and housekeeping services.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts and storage areas to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize room cleaning schedules and ensure timely room availability for incoming guests.

Skills:

The Guest Room Attendant utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage cleaning tasks efficiently and prioritize room assignments. Attention to detail is critical to ensure all guest rooms meet cleanliness and presentation standards, enhancing guest satisfaction. Effective communication skills are employed when interacting with guests and team members to address requests and coordinate work. Physical endurance and time management skills enable the attendant to complete duties within designated timeframes while maintaining quality. Additionally, knowledge of cleaning products and safety procedures ensures a safe environment for both guests and staff.
