Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for adhering to standard work practices and procedures, including hot work permits, proper startup and shutdown of plant equipment, confined space policies, Lockout Tagout procedures, Critical Safety Rules, and plant safety protocols. Additionally, you will manage the plant fire protection system alarms and diesel pumps.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Complete work orders using SAP and sign out parts appropriately.
- Perform minor electrical work, including unwiring and rewiring direct replacement parts.
- Rebuild pumps, change mechanical seals, and repair extrusion vacuum loading systems.
- Apply knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic valves on presses and extruders.
- Rebuild and change blades on granulators and blowers, install coating and nip rolls.
- Use micrometers and measuring tools for precision machining and fabrication.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on presses and extruders, perform hoist inspections.
- Unjam scrap lines, change cyclone and baler filters, and perform pipefitting.
- Comply with all plant rules, safety rules, GMP, and PPE guidelines.
- Work under the direction of the Department Supervisor and shift Lead.
- Perform housekeeping duties and maintain clean work areas.
- Understand plant emergency response roles and actions.
- Gain knowledge of asbestos location and radioactive devices in the plant.
- Know the domestic water system and gas shutoff locations.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience in reading blueprints and schematic drawings.
- 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- 2+ years of experience in repairing line conveyors, motor belts, and bearings.
- 2+ years of experience in welding or fabrication.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with PLC troubleshooting (preferably Allen Bradley or Siemens).
- 1+ year of experience in forklift/scissor lift operation.
- Experience in food packaging/plastics environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
