Join Our Grocery Team!

The Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op is seeking a Grocery Department Specialist to bring product knowledge, organizational skills, and buying expertise to our Grocery Department. This role combines customer service, replenishment buying, and operational support to keep our shelves full, our systems running smoothly, and our shoppers happy.

What You'll Do:

• Serve as a go-to resource for staff, members, and shoppers
• Place and receive orders for select grocery categories
• Review invoices, track inventory, and ensure pricing accuracy
• Support merchandising plans and maintain organized displays and backstock
• Mentor new staff and assist with daily operations
• Share vendor updates and product changes with the team

What We're Looking For:

• Organized & Detail-Oriented: Skilled in tracking inventory and following procedures
• Retail & Buying Knowledge: Experience with retail buying or inventory systems preferred
• Customer Service Focused: Friendly, helpful, and responsive to shopper needs
• Collaborative Communicator: Works well in a team environment
• Physically Capable: Lift up to 50 lbs., work in coolers, and stand for extended periods
• Natural Foods Enthusiast: Interest in local and natural foods a plus
